ABC TV Hit Dancing with the Stars’ Celebrities Support Prostate Cancer Awareness

On September 10 in Los Angeles, ABC TV megahit Dancing with the Stars’ (DWTS) celebrities Anna Trebunskaya, Jonathan Roberts and Nick Kosovich appeared in support of the AdMeTech Foundation’s Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer at the 13th Annual Conference of the Prostate Cancer Research Institute (PCRI). This event was held to honor National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Highlights included:

Nick Kosovich served as a Master of Ceremonies. Mr. Kosovich is a world champion of ballroom dancing and Emmy Award nominee. He recently coached several celebrities to victory in DWTS, including football great Hines Ward in the last season and entertainer Donny Osmond in the fall of 2009.

Anna Trebunskaya and Jonathan Roberts performed and conducted an introductory ballroom dancing lesson. Anna recently appeared on DWTS with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and figure skating Olympian Evan Lysacek. Jonathan is a world champion of ballroom dancing and a long-standing professional cast member of DWTS.

Prestigious national ballroom competition Yankee Classic stages professional celebrities of the ABC TV megahit show Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) in support of the AdMeTech Foundation’s quest to create Manogram™: Life-saving imaging for men. Yankee Classic featured Dance for a Cure Championships to benefit AdMeTech Foundation’s programs in research and awareness which are aimed at creating accurate diagnostic tools for prostate cancer akin to life-saving mammography for breast cancer. While prostate cancer strikes 1 in 6 men and has become even more common than breast cancer (striking 1 in 8 women), men do not have reliable tools for early detection and treatment. AdMeTech Foundation’s Dance for a Cure of Prostate Cancer was created to change that.

Arthur Murray's Annual Teach-A-Thon

Arthur Murray Boston presents Teach-A-Thon on January 14, 2011,when every private dance lesson from noon to midnightwill benefit AdMeTech Foundation’s Dance for the Cure – a national campaign to end prostate cancer crisis. Arthur Murray leaders and teachers offerprivate dance lesson to support AdMeTech Foundation’s mission to improve early detection and treatment, which is critical for cure of prostate cancer and saving lives.

Prostate cancer has become the most common major cancer in the United States, striking 1 in 6 men and becoming even more common than breast cancer (striking 1 in 8 women). In spite of the magnitude of the prostate cancer epidemic, men do not have accurate, life-saving tools akin to mammograms, and the impact is staggering: an American man dies every 19 minutes. Arthur Murray Boston partnered with AdMeTech Foundation’s Dance for the Cure and created a regional model for a national movement to increase public awareness of prostate cancer as a major public health problem and development of accurate diagnostic tools as a solution.
