Mission

Technological Solutions for Higher Quality, Lower Cost Patient Care

WHY
Many recent, rapidly evolving advances in medical instrumentation are creating exciting possibilities to alleviate the devastating consequences of critical illnesses that affect millions of people each year. This potential will not be realized unless new models of support for technological innovation are established.

WHAT
AdMeTech, a nonprofit organization, identifies, funds, and manages research and development projects conducted at leading academic and industrial institutions to expedite advancement of technologies that can improve the diagnosis and treatment of many life-threatening and widespread diseases.

AdMeTech Foundation supports innovative developments in medical technologies characterized by higher risk (e.g., at earlier stages) than medical manufacturers, venture capitalists, government agencies, and other traditional funding entities may be willing to assume.

AdMeTech focuses on generic, precompetitive instrumentation and related procedures that have great potential for positive impact on the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care, including:

  • Early diagnosis and medical intervention
  • Less invasive and more effective treatment
  • Decreased risk of complications
  • Reduced patient discomfort
  • Improved quality of life
  • Lowered healthcare costs

HOW
AdMeTech supports and expedites innovations in medical technologies and their transition from the experimental phase to routine patient care, including:

  • Stimulating new ideas and related basic research;
  • Developing new advanced instrumentation;
  • Validating clinical safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness to ensure appropriate clinical; application and to accelerate regulatory and reimbursement decisions and
  • Transferring to large-scale clinical use.

The current focus of the AdMeTech Foundation is to address the prostate cancer crisis effectively by following the successful model of research and public education that has led to the development and implementation of breast cancer imaging and transformed patient care.

AdMeTech’s ultimate goal is to arm physicians with accurate, accessible and affordable diagnostic tools – the MANOGRAM® – in their fight against prostate cancer.
